CITY OF COLONIAL HEIGHTS , VIRGINIA – The brand new home of Colonial Heights’ newest retailer Burlington Coat Factory is nearly completion and is on schedule for its April grand opening.
The new 55,000 square foot store serves as the replacement to the longtime Kmart department store at the Southgate Square shopping center in the city’s major shopping complex, surrounded by other major retailers like Walmart and Target and in the shadows of Southpark Mall.
As part of the store’s opening, changes were required to be made to the shopping center’s main entrance at the intersection of Charles Dimmock Parkway and Southpark Boulevard. Over recent weeks, a new travel lane was added for those exiting the center, a side walk was installed, and pedestrian signals were mounted to the traffic signal at the busy intersection.
According to documents from the Colonial Heights Planning Commission, in addition to the vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow improvements, officials also asked contractors to install additional lightning in the parking lot of the popular shopping destination.
Ahead of it’s anticipated Spring opening, the new store has already begun a search for applicants to work at its forthcoming Tri-Cities location. On their website as of Friday afternoon, there were 17 job listings, spanning from stock room positions, cashiers, front-end staff, and various departmental positions within the clothing retailer, along with managerial positions, ranging from full- to part-time shifts.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:
As part of our team, Supervisors and Retail Store Associates are responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service, processing sales quickly, maintaining a clean and neat sales floor, and being a critical resource in safeguarding company assets.
