CENTRAL VIRGINIA – As the United States and the world continues to mourn and make sense of the tragedy of a heinous attack that occurred across Paris, France Friday, locally, Virginia State Police is actively monitoring the situation and recent threats made against neighboring Washington D.C.

Monday, the group released a video where the continued to claim responsibility for the attack and alluded that a similar attack may occur in our nation’s capital.

“VSP, in conjunction with the Virginia Fusion Center, is closely monitoring the situation in Paris and the alleged threat alluding to Washington, D.C.,” officials said in a post on the social media platform.

“Virginians are reminded of the “See Something. Send Something.” free mobile app that Virginia State Police launched in December 2013,” they added.
